Content Self Service

ReproWorks can help their partners (publishers) for self service. Publishers have to upload file on FTP only and the rest of the work will be done by system for you.

Detailed Process Flow

FTP Folder Structure

To start the process, certian files are required. These files are uploaded to the server using FTP. Here is the structure to be followed:

   /inproces
   /error

Note: All PDF files and thumbnails should be ingested before metadata excel.

FTP Input Files Structure

  • Interior pdf file: 9989785439326_interior.pdf (Mandatory)
  • Cover pdf file: 9989785439326_cover.pdf (Mandatory)
  • Jacket pdf file: 9989785439326_jacket.pdf (Conditional)
  • Thumbnail: 9989785439326.jpg (Mandatory)
  • Metadata: Metadata.xlsx (Mandatory Trigger File)

Note: Ingestion starts after excel file is received for metadata. Please make sure that you upload all the mandatory files before uploading Metadata Trigger file.

Validation checks: Metadata validations

  1. Print eligibility to be checked first, before uploading the file. Files don't qualify the eligibility criteria, will not be moved next. Also, the system notifies content team and POC in this scenario. (Validations are available in next figure)
  2. System picks the ReproGenus files and checks if metadata is for new ISBNs or old ISBNs
  3. If the title is new, the system checks if content files are available for the title.
  4. If content files are available, system moves the content files to the switch folder with metadata xml.
  5. If the content files are not available, the system triggers an email to the content team and moves excel file to the failure folder.
  6. If the titles are old, system checks if there is any update in the prize of the title.
  7. If the price is changed, the system looks for a new cover file for the title. If new content files are available, the system ingests it else the system sends an email to the content team and moves excel file to the failure folder.
  8. If there is no update in price, system ingests the metadata from the ReproGenus files.

Error Handling

Publisher should check Publisher portal and emails for ingestion success or errors.

Whenever error is received via email alerts, publisher should check the “msg” in the email and fix the content files accordingly.

To check the details of error, publisher can check the errors at Publisher portal on “Publisher Content Ingestion” screen.
